An object moving in one dimension with constant acceleration $a=+5m/s^2$ starts with velocity $vi = -20 m/s$ at x=0 m at time t=0 s

i) Fill in the empty cells in the table to the left showing the position, velocity and speed of the object as a function of time

ii)) Make an x-y plot of position as a function of time from t=0 s to t=10 s (started below)

iii) Make an x-y plot of velocity as a function of time from t=0 s to t=10 s (started below)

iv) On the same graph as velocity vs. time, plot the speed vs. time.

Are the shape of the curves for speed and velocity the same?  Functionally, how are speed and velocity related? Velocity is a straight continuous line, speed is a line that changes slope when its value is 0. Speed is a scalar wheras velocity is a vector, which means that velocity is equal in modulus with the speed (velocity contains its sign wheras speed does not).

Approximately when is the speed of the object the least? The speed is the least at t =4 seconds.

Approximately when is the speed of the object the greatest? The speed is the greatest at t= 10 seconds
